Alarm going off at night just after setting it and going to bed?

Hi

Each night for the last 4/5 nights I have gone up to bed and set the alarm via the panel in hallway before going upstairs. Sometimes within seconds, sometimes a few minutes the alarm goes off and panel shows the same room each time. Cannot see a spider or anything near sensor in said room, and this only happens at night. Alarm set in day without any problems. Blinds are drawn so cannot be something outside.

Any ideas please?

Hi JC, i love questions like this. What i would ask you to tell me, is when the alarm activates at night, are you roughly at the same place on the stairs or landing when it happens. When cables are run under carpets, which i personally think is poor practice, it can cause a high resistance in the cable, where it is being walked on over the years. Hence why your alarm is activating.
This may not be the reason, as im only reading what you have written, but i bet im not far wrong.
