How do I keep my drawers in place?

I have pine wood dresser with 5 drawers. When it gets cold outside, my drawers must contract because I spend winters with a useless dresser, they simply will not stay on their tracks. Is there anything i can add to the side of the drawers or to the tracks in order to make them work all year round? And no, I'm not imagining things, it only happends in winter.

Moisture content of the air tends to change winter & summer - warm summer air is more moist than cold winter air. It may well be that the wood is naturally contracting & expanding due to its moisture content.

It may also be that the dresser is old and has been subject to wear over the years. If it were mine I would inspect, and expect to replace, the drawer runners. I would not mess with the drawers themselves.

Good luck...
