The alarm is a warning that it is not at the freezing temp. Something is wrong. It could be a lot of things. Is it running? Can you see or hear the fan inside the freezer running? Is the compressor running? Does it seem like the back of the freezer is frosting up? Nine times out of ten it is the defrost timer. If that stops running then the coils inside the panel in the back of the refrigerator freeze up if it is stuck in the run cycle and not going into the defrost cycle. If it is stuck in the defrost cycle then the compressor will not come back on. If your fan is running and it seems the compressor is humming try unpluging it for awhile and see if the pan under the refrigerator fills up with water once it defrosts on it own. If that is the case chances are it is the defrost timer...
