optima xm indicator problem?

After housing estate power cut -
Power Attack and Day indicators are lit up on panel

The alarm was not set at the time the power was cut
(we were in the house)

Any suggestions on how to get the alarm functioning again

alarm was in tamper mode, and locked down, located the problems, flat battery and the fuse had blown, replaced them both and finally managed to reset the system, went out for the day came back and the outside alarm was sounding(unable to stop it from sounding) but with no light flashing on bell box, checked the internal control panel and it was fine(day mode), also the sensors aint working now and when you set the alarm to arm it, it just continually bleeps and doesn't arm. any idea's. any comments are much appreciated thank you. personally i think its the control panel.

Thanks for your replies
I turned off the mains power, opened the alarm casing, disconnected the internal battery, reconnected the internal battery (alarm then started ). I then put my normal code in to cancel it, replaced the cover, and everything seems to work OK
Incidentally, the system has never been wired up to use a PA so maybe it was a fault with the main board
Think I'll get a new internal battery as suggested just in case

correct back then the optimas where used a lot with old fasioned bell boxes horrible alarms when it comes down to this stage. i made a mistake beegee the optima and also accenta can crash on power cut with a faulty battery i worked with these panels they are no good basicly if you have a working code you can power down the alarm and power back up you might aswel buy a new battery because i guarantee this will happen again on another power cut so power down battery and mains power back up the alarm will go off enter your code and replace the lid with the battery connected so replace the lid and tamper could be flashing or on a still light press reset and this should change to day and the power light but i insist you buy a new battery cos the optimas are a failure when it comes to this

p.s incase the alarm forgets your code these are default ones 999 or 0123

let me know how it goes

The Optima XM range and the Accenta panels dont cope very well in power cuts if the stand by batteries are knackered.
The IC prom chip basically crashes, and that can be the end of your panel. Please remember these are very cheap domestic alarm panels and they are not designed for durability.

looks like somehow the panic button has been pressed or its a fault with PA in the main panel

check the panic button if you dont even have one open the panel and look for PA and me sure its tight the loop

let me know if this works
