on a citroen xantia, hard or bouncy suspension usually means that it needs new suspension spheres. the nitrogen has leaked out of them ( which provides the soft cushion spring effect) & it has been replaced by the lhm fluid ( which controls the height & control)& because fluid can't be compressed you end up with hard suspension.
