rcd tripping on cooker?

my wife bought a rubbish "range" electric cooker a couple of years ago, its gone through oven elements like there's no tomorrow, easy to diagnose- either tripped rcd or on investigation no continuity through element, however yesterday it tripped rcd, elements all appeared ok, but continuity between earth & neutral, i disconnected all feeds/return from cooker, cont. still apparent at socket,cooker switch on cooker panel still trips rcd{even with cooker disconnected}, but 13A socket on panel still works without tripping. 13A shows cont. E/N but not at consumer unit.

thanks for your input, no, there is no neon, also, with the cooker power switched off the 13A socket still functions without tripping the rcd but shows continuity/leakage between earth/neutral, this must be a neutral fault, but why does the attached 13A socket still function? {as soon as I switch the cooker power switch the rcd trips-even with cooker disconnected}

is it a cooker switch with a red neon in.if the neons go faulty this could be an issue.also if the double pole switch has gone faulty this could be an issue
