My 1987 Trans am is spitting her gas back out the gas cap?

I have a Trans Am last August for no obvious reason decided it would only hold a couple gallons of gas at a time Its an 1987 with a 350 engine my fuel pump is mounted to the frame of the car (it has been for 5 years no problems) but for some reason my tank seems to be over pressurized if thats possible, also if i make a sharp right hand turn it comes out where it goes in i have no idea what is goin on

the tank will probably have some kind of breather system. check for small pipes around the tank & make sure they're not blocked.

I reckon you have a faulty fuel gauge or float and the tank is full, carry a spare can of fuel and run it til it stops, make a note of your mileage and if it still keeps going after your 2 gallon should have dried up check the above.
