We are having cavity wall insulation installed and need to find out if a vent is required.

I am in the same boat. I have asked the cavity company to find the answer for me and given them all the fire details. They want to fit a vent to be on the safe side (and not break the law). I do not want a hole in the wall so I have applied the pressure by telling them if hey do not know the kw rating cancel the job as I am not having a hole. Pretty pointless anyway as the conservatory is going on that wall next month...

Modern appliances often have a Rating Plate stuck or rivetted to them showing Model, Serial, Power and compliance details - examine it closely.
