The starter bendix is either dirty of faulty, take the transmission cover off and you will see a round gear its at the left hand bottom of the inside of the cover with a small course toothed gear on one end and a slotted toothed fine gear on the other end this gear is driven off the starter motor and gets thrown out and engages with the end of the crank on the outside edge of the outer variator half if its dirty it will not get htrown out just spin around so try cleaning it in some petrola dn then lube it up with some wd40 by soaking it for a while in some and twist the bendix opposite ways to get it moving again........ refit it and see how it goes.
