How do I remove Shower riser bar on an Triton Opal 2 II?

I have a triton opal II fitted. The shower riser bar has the chrome peeling off it so I thought I change it over.
Problem is I can't figure out how to get the caps off at each end in order to realise the bar.
There are little slots as if to use a flat scredriver but you don't seem to get any leverage.
Sure its a simple thing, someone must be able to help.
Thanks

I have exactly the same problem with my Triton Opal 2 shower - and Triton weren't bothered when I rang to complain either! I am about to try and change mine....

There is a catch in that slot so put something in there to release it while pulling it away from the wall at the same time. I would use a cutlery knife to pull it away from the wall. You should feel some give when you put the flat head screwdriver in the slot, be very careful as it is easy to snap.
