is this an mot failure? ?

bought a used ford galaxy ghia from a dealer on saturday, with a years mot.when we test drove drove it we heard knocking noise and so asked dealer what it was,he said it was the drop links and they were easy to buy and to fit.now we have heard that this problem could be potentially dangerous and should not have passed its mot.also yesterday car stopped running, making clicking noise when trying to start it up.

faulty drop links should fail MOT.they are very easy to fit and cost around £25 for a pair.danger is very slight on a scale of 1 to 10 I would give it a 1.You haven't said engine size or petrol/diesel so diagnose of clicking no start is difficult.if its 2.3 petrol faulty starter are know to be issue.
