my dc07 sucks in the upright position but when i want to hoover it looses sucktion?

found the problem, its the carpet mode switch, AUTO,ON OFF. it keeps getting stuck on the OFF position every time i go to use it in carpet mode, to rectify the problem turn it on its side and push the plastic lever to manually move it in the ON possition but you must not have it locked straight as it will get locked in the OFF position again when you use it

clutch or non clutch version model,?
The clutch version you can turn the brush OFF.
check the clear short hose under the sole plate splits/detached.
