how can i fix my ford mondeo 2000 1.8 zetec gearbox?

i have problems changing gear through all gears ,mostly 1st and 3rd. i either release the clutch and try again or just try to force it into gear. along with this it is quite loud when changing gear ,louder than normal ( loud clunking). i have had the clutch changed as this was thought to be the problem by a mechanic, but isnt as it still is like it. Is this the gearbox , clutch or any linkages to or from the gears or clutch.

try these 2 idea's
try putting the gears in without the engine running yes/no
then look check if you have a slave cylinder on the gearbox bell housing is it leaking .
get someone to WATCH the clutch push rod arm as you depress the clutch pedal ,if No movement suspect (clutch master cylinder rubbers failed)

if a cable clutch incorrect adjustment, or may have a plastic ratchet above the clutch pedal with missing/stripped teeth
