how can i fix my peugeot 407 bonnet release catch?

hi, i opened the bonnet on my peugeot 407 and now it is stuck open, the bonnet will not lock in position, i have tried working the release lever back and forth to no avail.

i have put wd40 on my bonnet release catch and it has not worked plus the catch is still not locking

that did the trick, thanks for the advise!

Working the release lever won't do much,the catch is not returning,spray the whole lot with WD40 and try to move the locking mechanism.
