Ihave just got my Y reg mondeo.And i think my wife has put petrol into it instead of diesel.The car was fine untill about 5 mile after filling but then started to judder then stopped. when left for a hour or so it will work again.But will only do about 4-5 mile again.Once the car has stopped and you start it again, it will tick over but not rev,and piles the smoke out of the back.She has been to petrol station and asked if she put petrol in but they are saying NO.The car was fine untill then even though it has just had a new clutch.Eny help would be welcome

steve, a diesel engine can run on amixture of fuel[petrol/deisel
but the mix has to be more diesel than petrol so if your wife hasnt filled the car up to the top just refuel with diesel the car wont run very well for a while but it will run alternatively, and this is the correct way drain off all the contaminated fuel mixture and change the fuel filter and top up with correct fuel
[we used to use petrol in our diesel when driving in severely cold weather below zero the petrol would stop the diesel from waxing up causing the diesl engines to stop running, anyway
