I have a fridge freezer candy CFD3455E and the main wire is very short and I want to change it to make it longer the reach to the socket.

Near the motor there is a black plastic cover where the wire come out of it and I do not know how to take it off so I can see from where the wire come in.

Use a single outlet extension cable.By far the easiest.If your not careful you could end up with a wiring issues as some of theses are terminated with plugs and sockets so you would need to make one up for the new lead.
