what does the spanner symbol mean on my clock on a saxo 1.1?

Hi, according to the handbook for the Saxo, it means the maintenance indicator and displays the number of miles to be covered before the next service, when the ignition is swithed on, the total mileage recorder displays the number of miles to be covered before the next service.Five seconds later the reading reverts to normal operation and the total or trip mileages appear on the display. If you want to get rid of the spanner, let me know with another question & i'll try & answer it.
