How can I fix my Peugeot 406 indicator stalk?

Indicator stalk on Peugeot 406 appears floppy and slack and either drops into left turn on or right when cancelled. Is it a major job to repair or can it be diy?

you cant - its a regular fault on older vehicles. Try a scrap yard - newer models are the same and its an easy swap
