Strange error codes on my Indesit dishwasher (IDL 700)?

Can anyone help with error codes not covered by the Indesit manual supplied with my IDL 700 dishwasher?
#1 It stopped working after completing the previous wash OK
#2 I get a steady light, fairly quickly, on the second light (the manual only covers a rapidly flashing light)
#3 This eventually changes to having both light 'one' and light 'two' illuminated.
#4 The machine is connected to the hot water supply only.
#5 When the dishwaher is first turned on, water enters the washing chamber *extremely* slowly - I have checked the water supply up to the electric inlet control valve - and this is fine, with good pressure, although there was a little dirt on the filter (now cleaned off)
#6 I fillled the washing chamber, using a jug, and the heater came on but nothing else happened subsequently, the pump did not start and then the machine 'blocked out' and the two indicators remained illuminated.
I suspect the inlet valve is either choked or inoperative but expected the cycle to start once there was water inside - this did not happen :(
I'd be grateful for any advice on this, I have reasonably good DIY skills but need to know what the problem is.
Thanks :-)
