baxi back boiler takes ages to light why?

my baxi BB has electronic ignition but on many occasions fails to ignite or the clicking sound of the ignitor takes ages to fire up the boiler

Either the ignition lead is shorting out on the case, or your pilot is partially blocked. In either case .... just get it serviced.
