How do i fit a new battery or jump start my rover 214si, the old one has been flat for a couple of weeks now every time i try the horn (immobiliser i think) goes off, please help, It is P reg.

If you don't have the key fob - remote un/lock fob

disconnect the earth from the battery (black Lead)

reconnect the battery black terminal and it should not activate the imobliser.

I have starred out the main point as you do not have an active alarm or imobilser at this point.

thanks Tom I have tryed this but the horn (alarm) goes off EVERY TIME & the neighbours are getting Pi**ed off

I had an L reg. Changed a few batteries. Locking then unlocking central locking reset immobiliser?
