There are timing marks on the crankshaft gear and the cam gear. They may be punch marks or scribed lines. Line up those marks.
To adjust the valves the piston has to be 1/4" past Top Dead Center on the compression stroke. Put a thin screwdriver in the spark plug hole. Rotate the engine clockwise until the piston it at top dead center with both valves closed Then turn the engine clockwise until the screwdriver goes back in 1/4" This overcomes the compression release that would otherwise be holding the exhaust valve slightly open.
Set the Intake Valve clearence to .003-.005"
Set the Exhaust Valve clearence to .005-.007"
There is a Torx set screw in the end of the adjusters, loosen it then turn the adjuster to get the proper clearence. The tighten the Torx set screw and recheck the clearence. It may take several attempted to get it right.
Good Luck
