88 Astra cargo van. The van dies after running about 5 to 10 mins, at the time of engine dies, black smoke comes out of the tail pipe.
And after that it won't start; until the engine is cooled. Computer is fine......

vehicle will have a cat fitted if by service light you mean the light witch is orange with aengine symbol then this can mean a few things butif the engine is cutting out the maybe blocked cat or lambarda valve try a new product called cataclean this is added to your fuel system trough your fuel tank it will clean all the fuel related parts inlcuding the catalic convertor an lambarda valve. the organge light can mean to much build up of gases caursing engine to have poor fuel economy and poor idle speed also acceleratoin after a while the engine will go into limp home mode this means the car will only travel at 30 or so just to get you home the organge light will go off if you try this the product is available at www.cataclean.co.uk i think
