recently changed my clutch !everything works fine,apart from not being able to find 1st and 2nd gear,3rd 4th 5th reverse gears are where thay are supposed to be,but there is nothing there for 1st and 2nd .also the gear stck seems to push to far over to the left the vehicle is a 1996 fiat punto 55sx p reg

had the same problem on mk3 astra.found it to be the gear lever linkage at the gearbox end.when the gearbox was refitted the gear lever in car had to be held in a particular position, the gearbox also had to be held in position in this case with a 5mm drill bit slotted into a 5mm hole at top of gearbox.the linkage was then tightened up.hope this is helpful.
