Clunking noise from my Kenmore #363.78282891?

We have had our refrigerator for almost 3 years now and just recently the compressor[?] began making this noise, just as it completes its cycle. When the compressor kicks in, the sound is as normal.

When completing its cycle, the noise sounds like the "banging" sound that water pipes make. That's what we thought it was, when we first heard the noise.

Any assistance would be most gratefully received!

Mny thanks for taking the time to respond!

Hi JP!

Many thanks for the assistance. I will move the refrigerator and see/hear what's what.

All The best!

Hello,

Pull the fridge away from the wall and take off the access panel in the back to find out exactly where the noise is coming from. If it is from the compressor, check to make sure the mounts are tight and not making the compressor loose. If it's internal noise inside the compressor, you will probably need a new one. It's not something a diy can do because you have to open the refrigeration system. If it is the compressor you should check your warranty, it may be 5 years on a compressor. If not, you can just live with it if it's not too bothersome. Hope this helps.
