when we insert the charger in the ds the light comes on and goes off but dosent charge

3possible scenario.
Either the Top Screen is faulty - the power light wll flash momentarily and then switch off - or
The unit has been dropped and there are components knocked off the board. r
A fuse on the board has blown.
Cost is between £20 - 45 (subject to repairer)
Check with local repairer
