gearbox ducato ??

i have a 89 ducato motorhome and it is stuck in what seems to be 2 gear ihave stripped away the linkage , but does anyone know if it can be unjammed by not removing the gearbox from the van , any suggestions will be greatly appreiciated thanks paul..

start it up let the clutch out till it starts to take then ease the gearstick back as you let a little more clutch out ....then fit new gear selector cables .this cured mine.good luck
