is the alternator belt tension correct.is the battery in good condition,acid level ok,terminals tight.are you sure your wire repair is sound ,terminals on alternator good .to test alternator start engine or jump start,use a multi meter set to dc,put test probes across the battery terminals,lightly increase engine revs.the meter should read between 12 to14volts. if its lower than 12v the battery cant charge= alternator fault.if its higher than 14v you may have a voltage regulator fault.if readings are ok suspect a battery fault.
