could the machine be at the stage where the heater should be heating the water ?,
select a*cold wash setting does machine motor now work?
if yes (need to test the heater element is good ) as this may have gone open circuit (O/C) causing the program to stop and hang indefinitely.
if no motor turn on cold setting,the motor brushes could be worn/low a replacement brush set required
