Tuble Dryer has stopped giving out the heat to dry the clothes?

I have a Hotpoint revesomatic dryer deluxe 9326. It is about 10 years old and it has stopped producing heat to dry the clothes. The drum still goes round, but no heat is produced. Was just wondering if there was a way of fixing it (maybe if a fuse has gone or a filament - a bit clueless when it comes to repairing household appliances). We took the top of it, but can't see anything really.

My tumble dryer stopped giving out heat to dry clothes and I had a gentleman come out who explained that I had overfilled it and it had overheated. This caused a safety cut out and he simply restarted it. I'm not sure how he did this but he did remove the top of the washer/dryer to do it.

I have the problem, I think that it's just the heating element.
They cost about 7 dollars and should be located on the front of the machine.
