Knocking noise?

On my Mondeo "N" reg is an annoying irregular knocking noise coming from the nearside suspension area especially on bumpy roads, any ideas?

baz mondeos have a real suspention flaw..the suspention is dependant on a wish bone system which has two bushes and of course the bottom balljoint it is however only cheap to buy but harder to replace [£20/25]to buy if you are not mechanicly minded dont try if you are then here goes.jack up car and support remove the nearside wheel remove the trackrod end remove the pinch bolt which passes through the stub axle which holds the bottom balljoint in place,if the bottom ball joint is bolted to the wishbone frame then unbolt it if not then force is required to remove the balljoint from the stubaxle once you have done that you will see that the frame is shaped like a triangle at the other two points there you will find the two bushes these are held in place by two bolts [in an up and down position] remove the two bolts and again a bit of force is required to remove the offending frame the new part will come with the bushes already in the frame. dont buy it from fords it will cost more try a good motorfactors...good luck m8
