Fitted new shoes, went to pull handbrake lever up, it came up all the way and went bang. Now I have no hand brake and it sounds like something broke from around the lever area as I can hear something hitting the floor pan when I now pull the lever

shoes are fitted correctly, think I need to find a way getting the car high enough to get under as it really sounds and feels like something is wrong at the cable end of the handbrake lever. Not sure what its like under there as the manual dosent really show any good pictures of the handbrake mechanism so im left guessing if its a broken cable or a snapped bracket, I really dont know. Cheers for the good luck as I need to get this sorted quick !

did you fit the shoes correctly?, do the brakes work or make rubbing or scraping noises. remove drums and check if any of the brake components are broken or incorrectly fitted. good luck
