My 1992 BMW 525i overheats. I relaced the radiator due to a leak and have also replaced the thermostat. When I sqeeze the lower radiator hose, I feel and here no fluid. Could the water pump be the problem?

it could. Or you might have either an airlock, or a blockage.
Take the expansion tank lid off. and run the engine to temperature. feel where the hot water is going. squeeze the pipes to try to "suck" water through. Pumps dont usually go wrong in my experience, they often leak, but your talking about total failure- which is i'd have thought, unlikely.
