my 51 reg fiesta doors wont open from the outside or inside ?

my fiesta doors wont open with either the remote or key. They wont even open from the inside. The boot relise button inside the car won't work either. the only way out is by the window and the only way in is by using the key in the boot.
It's a nightmare and as I have just had a new engine put in my van so I cant afford to take it to a garage. can anyone help?

i'll re check the fuses, but last night in the dark they looked ok, it has remote central locking (the car is a zetec s) this is how it happend;

the key fob stopped working, after a few months the drivers door stopped unlocking but would still lock. another month and the alram started packing up for a few days at a time, evertime i opened the door/boot/started the car, the alarm would go off and the hazards flash for about 5min (the alarm horn has been disconnected and tonight i pulled out the fuse to stop the alarm lights flashing). for a couple of days it would be ok then the lights would start flashing when you opened the doors again. a couple of days ago i changed the battery on the key fob so the remote central locking worked untill now when it all packed up

Preston, the control unit is behind the trim on the drivers side footwell, it might be worth a check on the connector to look for corroded connections, after fitting a new battery to the key fob, you have to re-syncronise it too the car,

Switch ignition ON (not start) 4 times within 6 seconds
Switch ignition OFF & remove the key
Programming mode active for 10 sec's (a beep will sound)
Press and release any button on fob (beep will sound)
To exit programming
Switch ign ON or wait 20 sec's

Hi Preston, check the following fuses in the fusebox inside the car, #3(10amp) #8(15amp) #12(20amp) #18(15amp) #21(15amp) these all are involved in the cenrtral locking and the deadlocking(why the doors will not open from inside or out) and the remote boot release,
