The on/off switch is not staying on all the time.occasionally it will stay on

You need to take the machine apart, take the casing off from around the motor (by unscrewing/unclicking it)and then slide out the power switch. If you remove the microswitch from the main switch and spray WD40, CRC or similar into it, it should disolve the dirt in there and all should be fine again.
