My Zanussi condenser dryer leaks water ?

My Zanussi condenser dryer (TCE7421W) leaks water when I remove the water chamber to empty it. I can see that when 'docked' it locks into a hole. There is a small two ended pipe and a small spring that have both dislodged somehow - and are crucial to allowing the water to flow into the collection chamber. I am managing to put them back into position - but each time I remove the water collection chamber they both fall out again and a considerable flow of water follows - that needs mopping up each time. How do I permanently put back the small pipe and the spring that have dislodged?

there is a rubber o ring that holds it all together.if this has fallen off inside it will keep coming apart
