I have a problem with my campervan. It is a Talbot express fitted with a Peugeot j5 diesel engine.It cuts out when driving or when sitting ticking over and will not start again until the engine is cool. Very dangerous when driving as no warning of spluttering it just cuts out like a plug has been pulled. Any ideas out there???

i had the same problem.
It was the filter in the tank it sucks up dirt and starves the engine. After it stops the dirt falls off the filter. I had the tank cleaned and the filter taken out and an inline filter just before the pump. Voila no more problem.

Not sure about the j5 but I had similar problem with the 2.5
The pre heater for the fuel is on the side of the block and it had a slight air intake that caused air locking in the system. I solved the problem by disconnecting the two pipes and joining together with a piece of copper pipe.
