How to indentify the thermostat in a Baumatic BDW13 dishwasher?

I have traced the likely fault in my Baumatic BDW13 dishawasher to a failed thermostat.

I have seen the replacement part on various websites; it seems to have a bright (brass ?) metal fron to it, with electrical terminals.

However, I cannot identify the same component under the washer; all the parts there seem to be made of plastic, or a re plastic coated.

Where is this component situated in the space under the machine ?

Disconnect from mains and pull the dishwasher out, take off the right hand side panel. You will see there are about 10 screws to be removed before the side panel will come off. If you know what the thermostat looks like you will find it near the rear of the machine with two wires attached to it. Disconnect the two wires and unscrew with a small spanner (should now unscrew easily)
