I have a 1999 ford explore 4x4. 4wheel light flashes?

Hello I have a 1999 Ford Explore 4x4 and the 4 wheel high and low light flashes 3 or 4 time then disapeaers but returns after a few minutes, the 4x4 switch is in the auto postion at all times any help would be appriciated.

Get ford to FDS it. It will have a gearbox speed sensor fault I suspect!
