SanDisk 1GB dropped in water?

I dried it right afterwards, but it wouldn't work on any computers. My friend said that it could probably still be saved since I only seemed to have damanged the part where data is transferred, so maybe they can get the chip out and I can still see the pictures. What do you think?

If you dried the card from the outside and did not wait long enough (a day or so) to dry the internals of the card, by placing it in sunlight or warm place but not hot, you may try that and it may work but the chances are not great as the water may have already damaged the card internally especially when you may have connected it back into the camera, or a card reader, since electric current can conduct through water and may have caused irrepairable damage to the chip inside.

Sorry you can't 'get the chip out'. You may have permanatly damaged it.
