Fixing Veritas House Alarm?

Our alarm keeps going off. I think it relates to a wire going from the alarm to the sensor in a downstairs room. Every once in a while when we walk over an area of floor it seems to trip. How easy is it to cut that wire then reroute it above floor level to avoid tripping it?

It will probarbly be a six core cable. Jonit boxes are available for alarm wiring. Don't just cop the wire - it will cause a short and blow the fuse that supplies power to the detectors. You may be better removing the panel cover and disconnecting the 12v supply to the detector before starting.
