dyson 07 with sparks from motor?

My dyson Hepa 07 has just had a new belt and filter but now the motor is sending out sparks and it smells of burning. Is this worth salvaging or should i get a new cleaner?

New motor £30 new vacuum £300 no contest.

Tricky but do-able DIY change otherwise allow another 50 for a shop to fit.
