Hi
Thanks for that I have a zx race exhaust and a standard air fillter.

well if it isnt a dellorto carb the mixture screw will make the low revs richer if its all the way in so i think you may have leaned it up now but really this should not affect the top speed at all as the pilot circuit isnt used at high revs.it may need to be jetted up though what exhaust pipe do you have on it?i would use a 70 main jet if you have an expansion chamber race exhaust pipe.and what air filter does it have?

thanks adam, mine was set all the way in and the bike ran really well but I guess its running too lean and not good for the bike. Now I have opened it its not running to max rpm im only getting 6000 where before I was getting 8250. Is this normal? have I damaged the engine running it to lean!!!!
Thanks

set the mixture screw 2.5 turns out from being all the way in,the mixture screw is on the back of the carb near where the air filter rubber meets the carb on the right hand side.the tickover screw is just to the right of it in the middle of the carb screw it in until the rear wheel just starts to turn a fraction now and again, this is how piaggio tell you to do it as i have been on a piaggio course before.

Your mixture screw mixes the Petrol/Air/2 stroke oil. Its really important you get this right. Generally its a small screw inbedded in carb. Idle screw sets your revs at tick over, generally just under 1000RPM. Big brass screw on side of carb

I am afrad dont know your settings. I would suggest getting a Haynes manual. Or the good Doctor will be on here sooner or later. I would suspect he knows!
