ceramic soap dish fell out from tile shower wall?

how to put ceramic soap dish back into wall of a tile shower/bath wall, what products to use?
Tammy Preheim, April 2006
Tammy, all that holds a soap dish in the wall is nonsanded grout. All you have to do is go to home depot or some hardware store and buy a small (1 or 2 lb box ) and mix it according to the instructions. If the soap dish did not break then just take you a small chisel or screw driver and a hammer and TAP the old grout from around the edges and back. You do not have to get all of it just most of it. Then you need to do the same on the wall. If you will notice there are 2 holes in the back of the soap dish, if you will knock a hole in the wall where the soap dish goes about the size of a golf ball then when you set the dish the grout will squeeze into these three holes and expand a little when it dries and you wil not have this problem anymore. Tape it to the wall after you have cleaned all the excess from around it a leave it alone for 24 hours and you are set. All this is assuming that there is not any damage to the wall behind it that caused it to fall off in the first place. If there is consider contacting your insurance and see what they can do for you before it gets anyworse. Anymore questions don,t hesitate to ask. This is what I have been doing for pushing 30 years, and I will tell you the simpleist way to fix a tile problem or tell you when it is time to call a professional
