Stirella Iron problem?

My Stirella SX8040D iron still gets hot but has stopped steaming, any ideas?

Possible fault with solenoid valve. You say it gets hot but if the soleplate isn't to the correct temperature then it won't steam. Is water coming out or just nothing???
