machine over fills with water?

when a cycle is started the machine just fills with water until it is full and overflows

I had a similar problem to this John and found that it was a blockage in the pressure tube that connects to the pressure switch. If you take the top off your machine you will find a clear tube that is connected to a device that is usually screwed to the frame of the machine (this is the pressure switch) the other end of the tube fits over a spigot that protrudes from the washing machine drum, as the water level rises in the drum the pressure switch detects when it reaches the full level. My tube was blocked at a point where it left the drum! I cleared this and the problem was solved,

Good Luck!

The pressure chamber is blocked. If you don’t know where the chamber is then remove the table top and locate the pressure switch, it will probably be round in shape and about 3 to 4 inches across. It will have a few wires attached plus a small bore air hose. Follow the hose down and it will be connected to the chamber. Remove the pressure chamber from the machine and clean it out thoroughly. You could blow down the air hose but that will only clear the blockage for a very short time.
