Renault Meganne Electrical Fault?

Hi all - we had our renault taken to a garage as it was very jumpy & cut out. Turns out coil number 1 was the problem and needed replacing. Garage did for us, but since then the reverse lights dont work when put into reverse and engine only starts when you use the clutch, won't work with break. Reported to garage who looked over and said can't find fault and not connected to their work. Got car mot'd at another garage since who checked all fuses, bulb and switches - could not see a problem and advised me to take to renault. Anyone else has similar? I dont want cost of taking to renault if i dont have to, plus I think its something the 1st garage did and they should fix it.

bob - thanks for reply. Garage looked at and not switch unfortunately. May have to take to renault!?!? Where abouts would I find the wiring harness - was not obvious when i looked under the pedal. Thanks

Not sure about the reverse lights (could be the switch) but I have had similar problems with starting on clutch and brake. It is the wiring harness under the pedal that has come loose, clip it back in and it will work....never buy a french car again :)
