Fixing this depends how handy you are.
First plug the machine from the power point don't just turn it off!
Then turn off the water to the machine at the isolation tap.
Open the door fully, and undo all the Phillips head screws around the rim of the stainless steel door liner ad slide it out of the way so you can get at the inner top half of the door.
Take a picture with your mobile or digital camera. Just so you won't forget.
From here there are two ways you can go.
One. Online you can buy a complete unfitted white control panel for about $60.00. It's pretty self evident that you have to remove all the switches etc and fit them to the new panel. Do it gently, a bit at a time, don't force the old plastic, and it won't take long. Reassemble, be cautious with any electrics (see below)
Two. You can use the old panel without removing anything. Go to Bunnings or a hardware chain and buy a handle which is 90mm between fixing screws and a couple of flat washers, gal if possible. Also get two nuts for each handle thread. The handle threads will be 90 mm apart.
Drill a couple of holes 90mm apart. Here's where you need a bit of judgement. I'll assume you've fitted a handle to a drawer.
The holes need to be approximately on each side of where the handle has broken. There's room at the back for the washers. The washers must be fitted to spread the load exerted when the handle is pulled.
Then fit the handle fitting the washers first, then one nut on each side. Use the second nut as a lock nut. You could use nuts with nylon locking.
Reassemble in reverse order, as they say. Make sure any electrics are not in contact with any of you metal screws or get pinched between the pieces you assemble. Pay attention to detail Do not be heavy hande when tightening anything. Gentle and a nice tight fit.
You've got electrics and water here. They're dead dangerous, if you aren't confident, ignore all this and get a serviceman. Better still, if you can afford it junk the dishlex and buy another machine. Aldi sometimes have them for $300.00!
