iveco daily 3510 wont start, engine turns over but wont fire?

was taking 1-2 seconds to fire. parked overnight went to start next day, engine just turned. engine has good rhythm just wont fire. iv bled the fuel !! checked the air filter and hoses. if there was a leak in th turbo compressor could this b the problem ? what about the engine stop device could this fail overnight ? underneath the fuel filter there is a black cylinder lying on its side with what appears to b a HT cable comming from back, splits into 2 one going underneath vehicle other plugs into engine

Firstly, the black thing is likely to be the vacuum pipe and resovoir for the brake servo,

first thing to try is to take the stop solenoid inners out, the iveco tool kit has a special angles spanner to do that, and the handbook tells you how to do it 'when' it fails!!

But very first, get a multimeter or test light, turn the ignition on, and see of power is getting to the fuel stop solenoid (and that the cable is connected to the solenoid, tho it's a ring terminal not a push on, so wont fall off like on other vehicles)

if power is not getting thru, check the mass of wiring connectors behind the windscreen wiper motor, all engine wires run thu there, but temporarily run a small cable from the battery + connection to the solenoid and see if she'll start.

if power is getting to the solenoid, then take the wire off, (ignition off) tape it up so it can't short out later on, unscrew the solenoid, pull the insides out (plunger and spring) and put the solenoid back in, if she fires up you'll have to stall the engine to stop it,

if she still wont fire, then check the cam belt, if that's ok, then it's getting weird,

my money is on the fuel stop solenoid tho, as the fuel wouldent drain back from the pump, so would have fired a few times before dying,

nothing on the turbo would stop the engine from firing,
