how do i change the rear brake pads on a fiat punto mk1?

v reg fiat punto, making grinding noises from nearside rear wheel. i assume it is the brake pads but i have no idea how to change them. are they similar to the front ones, if so it will be easy as i know how to do them. Any advice welcome. Vicki

are you sure they are pads on the rear? most puntos have a drum/shoe set up on the rear. although shoes are not that difficult to change, they can be fiddly finger trappers, even for the most experienced.
